G. Gabrielle Starr

G. Gabrielle Starr is a member of the NewHold Investment Corp. IV advisory board and also served on the advisory board of NewHold Investment Corp. II. Dr. Starr took office as the 10th president of Pomona College in 2017. Recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship and author of three books, Starr offers a compelling case for working across academic disciplines to spark intellectual discovery. Her research looks closely at the brain, through the use of fMRI, to help get to the heart of how people respond to paintings, music, and other forms of art. Dr. Starr was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2020 and to the American Philosophical Society in 2024. She is a Philip and Gertrude McConnell Professor in the Departments of English and Neuroscience.
